Qualified farmers from Mariveles, Pilar, and Hermosa were beneficiaries of the provincial government’s livelihood improvement program through cattle dispersal distributed last November 22 by the Provincial Veterinary Office.
Dr. Alberto Venturina, provincial veterinarian, said nine heads were given per town this year as livelihood assistance to qualified farmers. Next year six towns will benefit from the said program.
There is no reported African swine fever (ASF) case in Bataan so far, he said. There is an on-going anti-rabies vaccination as part of Gov. Joet Garcia’s “Bisita Bayan bawat Buwan.” Last week’s cattle dispersal activity was graced by Bataan Vice Gov. Cris Garcia and Board Member Popoy del Rosario.
In a related development, meat processing seminar, large animal synchronization, artificial insemination, vitamins administration, and deworming are also activities during the ‘Bisita’ program.
